Q. How does temperature affect flowers?
A. Heat causes flowers to respire at a higher rate and so fade; the cooler the room or location they're in, the longer they will last. However, cold or draughty conditions may cause petals to dry out too. A moderate, sheltered position is best.

Q. Why cut stems at a 45° angle?
A. Between the flower shop and your house, stems will dry out. By re-cutting them at an angle, you are removing dry fibre and ensuring a wide surface to take up fresh water. Putting stems into water while cutting them helps them to absorb even more water, and so stay fresh for longer.

Q. What's the point of flower food?
A. It contains three additives which nourish flowers and deter bacteria:

• Sugars to feed the blooms and encourage buds.
• Biocides to kill the fungi, yeasts and bacteria.
• Acidifiers to encourage water to rise up flowers' stems.

Q. Do lemonade, coins, bleach or aspirins make flowers last longer?
A. No. If anything, they might encourage the growth of bacteria.

Q. Can I specify a delivery time?
A. No. We can only guarantee that your flowers will be delivered between 8am and 6pm on the date of delivery. We cannot specify time of delivery.

Q. How will I know that you have received my order?
A. We will e-mail you to confirm your order has been received and will supply you with your unique order reference number. You can check the progress of your order by logging in, or by emailing customerservice@samedaybouquets.com.

Q. Do you deliver at the weekend?
A. Yes, only on Saturdays.

Q. Can you guarantee Monday deliveries by post?
A. Boxes of seasonal flowers delivered by us to the post office on Friday may be delivered on Saturday, rather than Monday. However, courier delivery is guaranteed to arrive on the day we say it will.

Q. How do I cancel flowers?
A. Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before delivery for a full refund, by emailing customerservice@samedaybouquets.com .

Q. What are the delivery limitations?
A. Deliveries to the following destinations may take 48 hours: Aberdeen, Dundee, Falkirk, Western Isles, Inverness, Isles of Skye, Arran, Cumbrae, Kirkwall, Orkney, Paisley, Isles of Jura, Colonsay, Coll, Eigg, Rhum and Canna, Perth, Holy Island, Isles of Scilly, Shetland Isles and Northern Ireland. There are no deliveries to the Isle of Man, Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland. All postal deliveries may take 48 hours. For more information email customerservice@samedaybouquets.com.
